Five Areas of Education

Teaching in preschool is based on a unique curriculum that includes five areas of education.

The area “Mobilising language in all its dimensions” emphasises the fundamental role of language in preschool, particularly the acquisition of French, the schooling language,  as an essential condition for the success of all students.

The areas “Doing, expressing oneself, and understanding through physical activity” and “Doing, expressing oneself, and understanding through artistic activities” help develop interactions between action, sensations, imagination, sensitivity, thinking, and oral and written language.

The areas “Acquiring basic mathematical tools” and “Exploring the world” focus on developing a first understanding of the children’s environment and encouraging their curiosity.
