International French School JMG Le Clézio
Excellence, Commitment, Multilingualism
The Lycée Français International JMG LE CLEZIO is an accredited institution within the AEFE network. It is approved by the French Ministry of Education at all grade levels.
Located in Port-Vila, it will welcome approximately 685 students from 20 different nationalities at the start of the 2025 school year.
The school offers a British-Australian International Section for all students from CP to CM2. At the high school level, this International Section is offered as an option to students in 10th grade, and prepares them for the French International Baccalaureate in 11th and 12th grades.
A word from the principal
For over 40 years, the Lycée Français International Jean-Marie Gustave Le Clézio has been supporting future adults throughout their academic journey. With its accreditation by the French Ministry of National Education and Youth, as well as its partnership with the Agency for French Education Abroad, it enables an increasing number of students each year to obtain the Baccalauréat or the Diplôme National du Brevet, with many of them receiving their diplomas with honors. These academic successes are a testament to the rigor, effort, and work put in by demanding yet caring teachers, all in the interest of each student’s development. The multilingual environment, in which nearly 700 students from about twenty different nationalities work and live, also contributes to the development of academic excellence, curiosity, and respect for others. This environment is also at the heart of the school’s educational project, which focuses on developing a sense of citizenship, the well-being of all, and the inclusion and flourishing of each individual.
In 2023, the community of the Lycée Français International JMG Le Clézio adopted an ambitious renewed school project: its reading will help you understand how we wish to combine the strengths of the French educational system with the specificities of our local environment to best support our students in their academic progress and personal and civic development. Teachers, educators, and staff work every day to structure a welcoming environment, educational pathways, and pedagogical support conducive to a serene school climate: this is how we foster each student’s engagement in their learning journey, both academic and educational, and the development of their self-confidence.
In 2024, this vision was further enriched with the opening of Australian International Sections, as well as the French International Baccalaureate, both paths of excellence preparing our students to become responsible and enlightened global citizens.
The community of the Lycée JMG Le Clézio has also made a firm commitment to sustainable development education, notably through the work accomplished by its eco-delegates, which led to the obtaining of the EFE3D (Engagement level) certification.
The ongoing planning of the expansion project of our institution is gradually taking shape and will soon lead to new prospects for the school, always in the best interest of our students and our educational community.
I sincerely wish that the commitment of the educational community of Lycée JMG Le Clézio will continue to align with ambition, rigor, success, kindness, flourishing, and pride—both individual and collective. This is what we work towards every day, and it will continue to guide our choices and actions.
I warmly thank the families who, day after day, demonstrate their trust in our institution and our educational system by entrusting us with their children. They can rest assured of our ongoing commitment and care for the success and well-being of our students. They can be convinced that the fundamental values of our system (equal opportunities, justice, secularism, neutrality, gender equality, respect, tolerance, sharing, and solidarity) guide our actions daily in the service of their children’s education.
The Headmaster
