1. Three years to complete high school chosen courses and prepare for tertiary education.

  • High school, whether it is a “general” or more technological path, includes three classes: la seconde (Year 10 (AU) / Year 11 (NZ), la première (year 11 (AU) / Year 12 (NZ) and la terminale (finale year : year 12 (AU) year 13 (NZ). Year 10 /11  has still the shared common base of knowledge for students. Student wishing to pursue studies in either a general or technological pathway,  will make the choice between these two at the end of this year. Lycée LE CLEZIO offers then both the general Baccalaureate and the Technological Baccalaureate in STMG (Sciences and Technologies of Management and Administration).Year 11 /12 and year 12 / 13  lead to the baccalaureate exam. The baccalaureate is the first level of tertiary education. As such, it allows students to continue their studies at university or other tertiary establishments.

  • Year 10 / 11  is the last year where students follow a completely common curriculum.
  • They must make choices at the end of it before starting year 11 / 12  and follow their individualised pathway:
  • A two path choice of : General or Technological (Lycée Le Clézio offers both options)
  • Choices of Specialised Subjects: Students will determine the main subjects they will follow in year 11 /12 and in their final year by selecting 3 specialised subjects at the beginning of this year, 2 of which will be continued in the final year.

2. A teaching organisation based on the curriculum specific to each grade level.

  • Year 10 / 11 (seconde) :  a curriculum based on common subjects and different optional subjects.

In year 11 /12, the curriculum for each pathway, general or technological, is based on 3 main foundations :

  • Common subjects for all students (students cannot choose them, and they are mandatory for everyone)
  • Specialised subjects that are mandatory:
    • In the technological path, they are attached to the curriculum (students cannot choose them)
    • In the general path, students must choose 3 from 7 subjects offered at the French high school
  • Optional subjects, in addition to the mandatory hours, for students who wish to take them.

  • In the final year, the overall curriculum and its organisation is the same as in year 11 / 12 . However, students drop one specialised subject to only follow 2.
