Le dessin sur sable en classe d’anglais
For the second school half-term, during DNL arts classes, some CE2 children (Olivier and Robert’s classes) have been learning and practicing sand drawing. Sand drawing is a ni-Vanuatu artistic and ritual tradition and practice, recognized by UNESCO as a Masterpiece of the Oral and Intangible Heritage of Humanity.
As drawing on the sand is ephemeral, they have not only practiced on the sand but also done some of these drawings on paper. Finally, they have made a little booklet with a selection of some drawings in order to remember the way to draw them and also their meanings.
